The project involved the full design, engineering and manufacturing process of a ball on plate rig. A stainless steel ball is tracked via an overhead camera. The video feed is turned into 2D coordinate data by applying image processing techniques. Two servos attached by linkages to the underside of the plate can adjust the plate orientation.

Control and estimation algorithms are applied so that the position of the ball can be regulated to points or trajectories defined by the user.
